Reflection (Change) on Hike from Bukit Timah Nature Reserve to McRitchie Resevoir (20110514)

In an adventure, the ultimate outcome is a positive change in one's outlook and character leading to personal growth and development. How has the hike impacted you on your outlook and character? What positive change(s) would you like to commit yourself to make in your daily live?

  1. I have been a lot more positive and this is what I would like to commit myself to make in my daily life.

  2. I think that I became more tough as I have never done such a challenging hike before or even get a splinter before (until after the hike). I feel utterly embarrassed screaming when the splinter was taken out and in fact it didn't hurt a lot....(I fell on a treadmill and the belt was rolling on my knees while I held on the handles and I didn't cry =,=). I think that overcoming of the landslide also helped me a lot in becoming tougher. I would like this to help me change into someone who can endure hardship and setbacks and I believe that this will help me in achieving. success

  3. Looking back the biggest change was that i was more ready to get down and dirty. Especially when dirtying my hands while carrying people up the wall.

  4. I would like to change the way i look as team work as people helping one another , to people supporting each other to accomplish something that seems impossible and i would want to be more supportive when helping out each other.

After this adventure, I think that having positive attitude in oneself is important in daily live as it helps us to think clearly and look on the bright side of things that would make ourselves and people around us feel better. I would like to commit to have more positive attitude in myself so that overcoming tough situations would be slightly simpler.

  6. I had improved in my physical strength. It had made me feel more comfortable to go going down in the grass and mud. I would definitely like to change my perception of things. It can help me when i am in a problem and i need to find the solution. If my perception is always the same i would never be able to get the solution to my problem. Just like how i thought i would never be able to do it, but i actually managed to do it.

  7. I think that i have changed in my mind set and physical strength has increased as i thought that it would be impossible to walk 8 km in 1 hour but as we went about doing the task,i felt more encouraged.

  9. I realised that my social awareness had stepped up to a higher level, especially when there are more experienced peoples guiding not only but the entire team, aka the teachers. And I felt that there was no point being negative in others' new perspective on something, and that I am not always right. Self-assurance is never as powerful as what teamwork can bring us to, You Are Not Alone, including you and you and you.

  10. It as made me believe that I can overcome any challenges I face and as a team, we can accomplish the any challenges easily with teamwork.

I would like to commit myself to take challenges positively and never give up when trying to solve it, no matter how hard is it. I would also like to have more teamwork and try to work better as a team.
